About the Role

As the Head of IFRS 17 Reporting, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of IFRS 17 accounting standard across Guardrisk Life. You will work closely with stakeholders across Group, BSM (Life) and Finance, as well as HAF and external audit, to deliver end-to-end IFRS 17 reporting.

You will need to have a deep understanding of IFRS 17 accounting standards and experience in implementing and maintaining actuarial models for insurance liabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be working closely with auditors, regulators and other key stakeholders.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the implementation of IFRS 17 accounting standard across Guardrisk Life.
  • Deliver end-to-end IFRS 17 reporting, including quarterly, bi-annual and annual modelling requirements.
  • Liaise with auditors, regulators and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth audit processes related to IFRS 17 reporting.
  • Co-ordinate and lead the maintenance and management of the data, models and systems used for IFRS 17 reporting.

Requirements:

  • At least 5-10 years experience in Life Insurance reporting.
  • At least 3 years people management experience.
  • In depth experience with implementation of, and actuarial reporting on, International Financial Reporting Standard 17 (IFRS17) basis essential.
  • Insurance liability modelling experience.
  • Group consolidation and reporting experience advantageous.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science.
  • Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa.
