Crew Life at Sea is seeking a skilled Pastry Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting a variety of pastries and desserts, working closely with the Executive Pastry Chef to develop new menu items, and ensuring that all pastries meet the highest quality and visual standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Preparation and presentation of pastries and desserts according to established recipes and standards.
- Development of new menu items and specials with the Executive Pastry Chef.
- Maintenance of high-quality and visually appealing presentation of pastries.
- Inventory management of pastry ingredients and supplies.
- Training and supervision of junior pastry team members.
- Maintenance of a clean and organized pastry station, following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Adherence to company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and hygiene.
- Assistance with other kitchen duties as needed, including food preparation and plating.
- Travel to different cruise ship locations as required, maintaining high standards of quality and service.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or Chef de Partie in a high-volume, upscale dining establishment.
- Extensive knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and flavor combinations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to travel and work on different cruise ships for extended periods of time.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
