We are seeking a highly skilled Utilities Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Complement Recruitment. This permanent position is based in eThekwini, Durban, KwaZulu Natal.
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure effective, energy-efficient operations of utilities for the line and plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining utilities equipment performance within benchmark limits and executing themes related to energy and cost savings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective environmental, health, safety, and risk management to local standards
- Implement world-class asset care and maintenance principles (efficient asset utilization)
- Compile, manage, and control maintenance budgets
- Manage performance and people development within the department
- Plan utilities availability and planned shutdowns
- Develop and manage quality systems (ISO 9001/2000) in the responsibility area
Requirements:
- Matric; National Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering & GCC other related Certifications
- GCC (Government Certificate of Competency) Certificate - essential
- Relevant maintenance and project management experience, preferably in a beverage or fast-moving consumables goods environment
- 5+ years strong mechanical experience in the field of Thermic Heaters, compressor, chillers, or water treatment plants or similar preferred
