Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems using CAD software, specifically Inventor.
  • Read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers and sales representatives to design products with engineering and manufacturing techniques.
  • Prepare detailed drawings for sheet metal components, including calculations and allowances.
  • Conduct site visits to measure existing equipment and prepare assembly drawings and manufacturing drawings.
  • Ensure accuracy and precision in all designs and calculations.
  • Work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and management.

Requirements:

  • Matriculation certificate.
  • Relevant draughting qualification, preferably in mechanical design.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in mechanical design and drafting.
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of SABS/SANS drawings specifications.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Excel and Word.
