Energy Transition Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Energy Transition Specialist to join our team at Armstrong Appointments. This role involves providing expert advice on renewable energy transition strategies and projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with the finance, ESG, and technical teams to ensure that all aspects of the project are aligned with the company's renewable energy transition strategy. They will also negotiate power purchase agreements, lender agreements, and other project documents, manage tenders and proposals to secure offtakers and opportunities, and lead the PPA process to signature and CP fulfillment.
Key qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in finance, engineering, law, or other applicable fields, and minimum 5 years of experience in the renewable energy industry. REIPPP experience is advantageous but not mandatory. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks in South Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Negotiate power purchase agreements and lender agreements.
- Manage tenders and proposals to secure offtakers and opportunities.
- Collaborate with the finance, ESG, and technical teams.
- Lead the PPA process to signature and CP fulfillment.
