Job Overview:

The Department of Public Works seeks a skilled Artisan Bricklayer to join our team.

About the Job:

  • Compile material quantities per project and maintain all Government Buildings, including new work to buildings.
  • Monitor progress reports on projects while overseeing Artisan assistants and Learners.
  • Report directly to Artisan Superintendent and possess vast knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.
  • Participate in various expeditions, including other Islands (Marion, Gough & Antarctica) & Robben Island.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in ensuring the quality and safety standards of construction sites.
  • Work closely with Artisan Superintendent to achieve project goals and deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain skills in bricklaying techniques and tools.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure successful project completion.
