We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Management Professional to join our team at Abantu Staffing Solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science and regulations, with experience in conducting field inspections and monitoring environmental conditions. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local, national, and international environmental regulations, as well as developing and implementing sustainable practices within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Environmental Monitoring and Control: Conduct regular environmental field inspections and examinations to assess conditions, determine pollution levels, and report hazardous locations/materials.
- Sampling and Testing: Arrange sampling of food, soil, air, and water at facilities for further analysis/testing at the laboratory.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, national, and international environmental regulations, including obtaining and maintaining relevant permits and licenses.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare clear and detailed written reports about field inspections, as well as perform research and report findings on current environmental conditions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or post-grad in Environmental Science or related fields (NQF 7).
- Certificate: SAMTRAC.
- 4 years' experience in a similar role in a Manufacturing Environment.
- Computer Literacy (MS Office Suite and other job-specific software systems).
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, interpretations, and health and safety programs.
