Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems and products, including concept design, calculations, and layouts.
  • Evaluate Finite Element simulations results and prepare Solid Models of components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies.
  • Prepare concept layouts of design concepts, incorporating inputs from team members and team leaders.
  • Prepare detail layout and manufacturing drawings of components and assemblies, ensuring correct drawing standards are used.
  • Ensure the technical integrity of allocated designs, including integration on system level.
  • Follow the development process and procedures, ensuring relevant reviews and procedures are completed to reduce design risk.
  • Assist during the building and testing of prototypes, ensuring closed-loop feedback can take place during the design process.
  • Communicate with manufacturing and sub-contractors to ensure the flow of information during prototyping and production.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute tests as required on allocated sub-systems.
  • Represent the business at design reviews and attend design reviews internally and externally with clients.
  • Manage sub-systems throughout the acquisition phase, being accountable.
Requirements
  • (Post-) Graduate degree in Mechanical/Design Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
  • Previous experience in the military vehicle design environment will be advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, systems, and components.
  • Proficient in electrical design software or relevant Onshape and SW Packages.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members.
  • Strong knowledge of product design principles and techniques.
  • Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of designs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
