Job Title: Registered Nurse - Relief Contract

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team on a relief contract basis. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate diagnostic and maintenance of medical treatment needs of residents
  • Supervise call-out services provided by nurses and doctors for emergency or medical needs of residents
  • Organize Doctors' clinic and medical care assessing residents to be seen and preparing folders
  • Supervise the Nursing Team in conjunction with the Line Manager
  • Manage attendance, overtime, duty rosters, incident reports, etc.
  • Manage time and attendance system extracting reports
  • Staff discipline, grievances, and performance appraisals in conjunction with HR Manager
  • Assist Nursing Service Manager with tasks when required
  • Schedule house visits for primary and post-operative care
  • Ensure safe methods for dispensing medicines to residents
  • Control and accurately maintain an inventory of medical consumables to scope of practice
  • Arrange for provision of counselling, care groups, and health education required for residents
  • Manage and organize resident care carrying out required nursing procedures
  • Perform dressing, vital signs, blood pressure, administering oxygen therapy, etc., and report abnormalities
  • Plan well-balanced diets, taking cognizance of allergies
  • Manage complaints and incidents
  • Control and maintain inventory of medical consumables, medical stock sheets, stock control, storage, and management of reports
  • Ensure Compliance and a secure environment at all times

Requirements:

  • Valid SANC qualification/certificate compulsory
  • 5 years post-qualification experience working with the elderly
  • Experience overseeing a healthcare team will be highly advantageous
  • Compassionate and professional relationship builder with residents
  • Attend training where required
  • Vaccination ESSENTIAL
