Senior Security Operations Manager

As a Senior Security Operations Manager at Bidvest Protea Coin, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest level of security standards are met across all our operations.
About the Role:- Responsible for providing expert advice to clients on security matters;
- Conduct threat and risk assessments, and report findings accordingly;
- Maintain professional relationships with clients through regular liaison;
- Manage manpower and rostering to ensure optimal staffing levels;
- Oversee equipment management to guarantee compliance with regulations;
- Address client complaints effectively and resolve issues promptly;
- Ensure contractual requirements are always met, adhering to strict deadlines;
- Investigate incidents and take necessary actions to prevent recurrence;
- Enforce the company's disciplinary code and facilitate disciplinary hearings when required;
- Foster a culture of adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and promote health and safety practices;
- Resolve Security Officer problems and provide support as needed;
- Guarantee that Business Process Compliance (BPC) policies and procedures are upheld at all times;
- Undertake after-hours visits to inspect sites and address any concerns;
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports detailing performance and progress;
- Coordinate training sessions to enhance employee skills and knowledge;
- Act as a standby manager during shift changes and be available for meetings and calls outside working hours;
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- PSIRA certification Grade A is essential;
- A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent qualification is required;
- Retail experience is mandatory, with managerial or similar experience being highly advantageous;
- Firearm competency and a valid Regulation 21 certificate are desirable assets;
- Demonstrated expertise in risk management, business impact analysis, countermeasures, and contingency arrangements related to IT services disruptions;
- Knowledge of access security control tools or systems;
- Ability to interact confidently with the public and possess excellent communication skills;
- Bilingual proficiency in English and any other South African language is preferred;
- The capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
- First aid and fire-fighting training would be beneficial;
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are essential;
- Willingness to undergo a polygraph test and maintain a clean disciplinary, criminal, and credit record;
- Possession of a reliable vehicle and a Code 08 driver's license is required;
- Availability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
Estimated Salary: R250,000 - R350,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. This salary range reflects the current market rate for a senior security operations manager in a similar position within the industry.
