About the Role
Australian Regional and Remote Community Services (ARRCS) is seeking a skilled First Nations Career Specialist to join their team. This role involves working with new and existing trainees to support career pathways and lifestyle plans in Aged and Disability care.
The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues to provide strong advocacy for First Nations people and maintain their connection to community.
This is an excellent opportunity for a positive and proactive individual who is passionate about supporting the career and lifestyle of our First Nation people.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with trainees to develop career pathways and lifestyle plans
- Providing advocacy and support for First Nations people
- Maintaining connections to community
- Collaborating with colleagues to achieve team goals
Requirements:
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and language
- Personal commitment to promoting and supporting First Nation people
- Sensitivity to cultural requirements of indigenous people and their families
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, preferably in a mentoring capacity
