Cresco Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our financial department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant accounting standards, as well as experience in financial reporting systems and tools.

We are looking for a professional with excellent communication skills who can effectively communicate financial results, analyses, and insights to senior management.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including SARS, banking, and industry-specific reporting.
  • Manage the preparation and distribution of external financial reports.
  • Develop and maintain internal financial reporting processes.
  • Conduct financial analysis to interpret trends, identify variances, and provide insights into the organization's financial performance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CIMA, SAICA, AGA, or SAIPA articles completed.
  • Three to five years of experience in an accounting role, with two years of relevant experience post-articles in financial reporting, accounting, or auditing roles.
  • A strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting systems and tools, such as ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
