We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team as a Technical Drawing Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings based on 3D models, optimized for efficient manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create accurate and precise technical drawings based on 3D models using SolidWorks and/or Rhino.
  • Prepare and manage costing sheets (QCE) and bills of materials (BOMs) to support budgeting and resource allocation for projects.
  • Recommend suitable materials and production methods, balancing cost-effectiveness with quality standards.
  • Support the prototyping process to help refine and finalize design details.
  • Maintain organized and accurate technical drawings, BOMs, and specifications.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering or draughting.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or Rhino.
  • Experience with CAM CNC, G-Code generation in both 2 & 3 Axis.
  • Strong understanding of materials, including Steels & Alloys, Acrylics & Plastics, Wood & Composites.
  • National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or draughting certificate.
  • Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.

Salary: R800,000 - R1,200,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Location: South Africa.
