Key Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Attend to equipment breakdowns and develop preventative action plans.
  2. Regularly inspect equipment to identify potential issues.
  3. Perform scheduled maintenance and shutdown tasks.
  4. Assist with cost estimates and drawings/preliminary sketches.
  5. Install/connect new equipment and evaluate compliance to electrical standards.
  6. Troubleshoot and repair electronic, electrical, and computer-based equipment.
  7. Analyze electronic circuits and conduct fault finding, testing, and repairs.
Requirements and Qualifications
  1. Prior experience in a production and industrial environment is highly valued.
  2. Electrical knowledge is advantageous, along with computer literacy in MS Office.
  3. A Grade 12 certificate is required, along with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  4. Familiarity with Pneumatics and Hydraulics, mechanical skills, and understanding of conveyor systems are essential.
  5. Knowledge of single-phase VAC and three-phase systems up to VAC electrical systems, process systems (including electronics, control valves, PLCs, software, and hardware), and mechanical experience is necessary.
  6. The ability to read and interpret instructions, setup procedures, electrical drawings, and manuals is crucial.
  7. Excellent mechanical knowledge of machines and tools in a factory environment, problem-solving ability, and effective communication skills are required.
  8. Commitment to safety, high motivation, willingness to work shifts, and fast and effective electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills are also essential.
  9. Sound organizational and interpersonal skills, reliability, and the ability to work as part of a team are necessary for this position.
