Account Manager Role

We are looking for an experienced Account Manager to join our team in Durban.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth and managing existing customer relationships in Kwa-Zulu Natal for a well-established manufacturer of abrasives products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Performance: Achieve revenue growth, profitability, and volume expansion for direct accounts in the portfolio.
  • Channel Conflict Resolution: Manage potential channel conflict to eliminate it.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and implement processes to measure, track, and report account performance.
  • Market Intelligence: Provide regular market updates to Sales and Management.
  • Penetration Strategy: Expand into competitor markets.
  • Customer Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough analysis of existing and potential customers' needs.
  • Cold Calling and Growth Strategy: Engage in cold calling and develop targeted growth strategies for new and existing customers.
  • Sales Tracking and Reporting: Monitor and report on sales performance and market trends.
  • Sales Budget Achievement: Exceed sales budgets (volume & revenue).
  • Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Compliance: Adhere to company policies and procedures while maintaining integrity.
  • Customer Retention: Develop and maintain existing customer relationships.
  • Trade Show Participation: Represent the company at trade shows and open days.
  • Compliance: Follow company guidelines on planning, reporting, and customer management.
  • Price List and Discount Structures: Adhere to company price lists and discount structures.
  • Liaison with Internal Teams: Collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-quality customer service.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure customer satisfaction and after-sales care.
  • Presentation Skills: Deliver effective internal and customer-facing presentations.
  • Proposal Management: Coordinate proposal development and delivery to clients.
  • Sales Meetings and One-on-Ones: Attend regular sales meetings and one-on-one sessions with the Sales Manager.
  • New Opportunities: Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Service and Product Updates: Communicate new services and products to the Sales Manager.
  • Sales Support: Collaborate with internal teams to close sales deals.
  • Weekly Feedback: Provide regular feedback on lost sales and backorders.
  • Call Planning: Submit monthly call planners by the end of each month.
  • Daily CRM Updates: Update CRM with daily visit and phone call information.
  • Annual Sales Plan: Develop an annual sales plan outlining sales data, projections, and target customers.
