Key Responsibilities:- Release Planning: Develop and maintain release plans, timelines, and requirements in collaboration with business and ICT managers.
- Communication: Communicate release-related tasks, schedules, and requirements to various project and business teams.
- Resource Allocation: Coordinate and prioritize release schedules and resources, taking into account third-party applications, defect backlogs, planned releases, and infrastructure updates.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage release-related risks and dependencies to ensure the scope, schedule, and quality of the release are not compromised.
- Progress Tracking: Monitor progress, identify issues, and work to improve the release process.
- Release Readiness: Schedule release readiness reviews before deployment and milestone reviews after each release.
- Implementation Planning: Create plans for implementation and deployment in accordance with the release schedule, approved by business and ICT managers.
- Weekly Updates: Provide weekly updates on release activities.
- Release Engineers: Identify and allocate project roles and functions to serve as release engineers for each release.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with release stakeholders, including Test Managers, Dev Managers, IT Ops, and PMO, on release schedules, timelines, and outcomes.
- Go-Live Activities: Lead Go-Live activities to deploy software successfully under ICT management guidance.
- Automation Tools: Provide guidance and direction to development teams responsible for building automation tools used in software development and deployment.
- CAB Meetings: Schedule CAB meetings to discuss release schedules with the ICT team and identify roadblocks.
- Documentation: Maintain documentation on build and release procedures, notifications lists, and dependencies.
- Methodology Improvement: Improve methodologies used for configuration management and software development to enhance configuration management.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology.
- Experience: 8-10 years of experience in a related field and 5 years of experience in a Release Manager role.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant IT governance and legislative frameworks, such as COBIT, ITIL, TOGAF, SDLC, and SOA.
- Project Management: Project management experience is an advantage.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CD/CI) pipelines.
- DevOps and Agile: Experience in working with DevOps and Agile methodologies.
