We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineering Discipline Lead to join our team at Royal HaskoningDHV South Africa. As a key member of our Water Advisory Group, you will be responsible for leading and managing electrical engineering design projects from inception to close out.
Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical engineering design projects, including medium voltage switchgear, low voltage switchgear, motor control centers, and small power and lighting designs.
- Develop and maintain technical knowledge in electrical engineering, including performance specifications, contract documentation preparation, estimates, and site inspections.
- Coordinate and conduct site inspections, MCC, and panel Factory Acceptance Testing Procedures.
- Perform commissioning and handover procedures.
- Manage client relationships, business development, and client liaison, targeting sales with key targets/outputs.
- Utilize Autodesk Construction Cloud, ASITE, or other collaboration software for project coordination and review.
- Evaluate technically and commercially different options based on project objectives/requirements.
- Analyze and troubleshoot PLCs, Telemetry, and SCADA systems.
- Implement ISO 19650 by utilizing Building Information Modelling Execution Planning (BEP), Model Information Delivery Plan (MIDP), Team Information Delivery Plan (TIDP), and Common Data Environment (CDE).
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Light Current) or B.Eng./B.Sc. Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
- Professional registration with ECSA (PrEng) essential.
- Minimum 5-10 years' experience in electrical engineering design, preferably in the water sector.
- Strong knowledge of pump stations, water, and wastewater treatment plants with regards electro-mechanical equipment and components.
- Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and Autodesk Construction Cloud, ASITE, or other collaboration software.
- Familiarity with FIDIC (Yellow book included), GCC, NEC, and other required contracts.
- Excellent leadership skills, motivated, and disciplined with a strong track record of leading teams in own discipline.
