Key Performance Indicators

The Field Operations Specialist will be evaluated based on their ability to maintain equipment, manage inventory, and ensure plant health, among other key responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of agricultural equipment, including threshers, planters, and trailers.
  • Inventory management and control of stock and equipment.
  • Sowing of stock seeds for field productions.
  • Setting up and controlling transplanting equipment during transplanting season.
  • Ensuring plant health through spraying, rogueing, and cutting of flower heads and field trials.
  • Seed production seed intake management and control.
  • Pre-cleaning of produced seeds.
  • Taking representative seed samples from all batches.
  • Packaging of seeds for export.
  • Cleaning of production facilities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • 5 years of experience in an agriculture-related work environment.
  • Basic knowledge of operating seed cleaning equipment or agriculture equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of responsible agricultural chemical use.
  • Basic vegetable seed crop and production knowledge.
  • Forklift maintenance and handling experience.
