Job Title: Retail Internal Auditor

The Retail Internal Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness of our governance processes, risk management, and internal control systems. As a key member of our team, you will provide independent assurance to our Board of Directors that our systems are adequate and effective in mitigating risks and achieving our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and control the full audit cycle, including risk management and control management over operations' effectiveness, financial reliability, and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations.
  • Attend full stock-takes to document processes, conduct independent verification, and report back.
  • Ensure all stock movement and cycle counts are accurate.
  • Travel nationally between stores to execute the function of Internal Auditing.
  • Safeguard company assets, specifically stock, assets, and cash.
  • Determine internal audit scope.
  • Obtain, analyze, and evaluate accounting documentation, previous reports, data, flowcharts, etc.
  • Prepare and present reports that reflect audit results and document processes.
  • Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality, and goal achievement.
  • Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings.
  • Document processes and prepare audit findings memoranda.
  • Conduct follow-up audits to monitor management's interventions.
  • Develop knowledge of sector rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, and performance standards.
  • Implement, update, and control company policies and procedures.

Database Management of Personal Identifiable Information (PII):

  • Increase data collection across all touchpoints.
  • Ensure data is clean and managed in compliance with local legislation and policy.
  • Implement tools to utilize, manage, and optimize data for marketing campaigns.
  • Segment data into audiences and enhance and refresh data constantly.

Requirements:

  1. Hold a degree in Internal Auditing, Accounting, or Finance.
  2. Have a proven track record in Retail Internal Auditing.
  3. Be currently an Internal Auditor within a Wholesale/Retail/FMCG company.
  4. Have the ability to manipulate large amounts of data and compile detailed reports.
  5. Have knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.
  6. Hold a valid driver's license and own a car (for travel between stores).
