Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and analyze concrete/steel bridge structures, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  2. Prepare design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports, maintaining our high-quality standards.
  3. Collaborate with and support professional staff across various locations.
  4. Participate in the design process from initial concepts to final outputs.
  5. Mentor junior team members during their growth and development.
  6. Develop and propose innovative design alternatives for various projects.
  7. Work on fast-paced design and construct projects.
  8. Provide support during the construction phase of diverse structural projects.
  9. Conduct load rating evaluations for bridge structures.

Essential Qualifications

  1. BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering. A postgraduate qualification in a relevant engineering discipline would be beneficial.
  2. Registered Professional Engineer or evidence of registration progress with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
  3. A minimum of 5 years' experience in bridge design.
  4. Familiarity with Middle Eastern Highway standards and design practice would be advantageous.
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills.
  6. Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and manage project changes.
  7. Proficiency in digital engineering tools and techniques.
  8. Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
  9. Strong technical communication and interpretation skills.
  10. Willingness to learn and adopt new digital tools and workflows.
