The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing monthly financial statement packages, ensuring accuracy and completeness. They will also lead the in-depth review of general ledger, income statement, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, guaranteeing accuracy and completeness.
  • Lead the thorough examination of the general ledger, income statement, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Post journal entries to the general ledger and manage fixed asset depreciation and amortization.
  • Oversee the review of variance commentary prepared by property management teams.
  • Manage cash flow operations, ensuring timely payments for utilities, taxes, mortgages, and owner distributions.
  • Oversee the review and posting of cash receipts and vendor invoice payments.
  • Assist in audit processes, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Lead and mentor junior staff, training them on key accounting functions and industry-specific knowledge.
  • Interact with property management teams and external clients to ensure expectations are met.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, ensuring timely payments and proper accounting of invoices.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess:

  1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. AGA (SA), CGMA, or Professional Accountant (SA) certification with 5+ years of PQE.
  3. CA (SA)'s with 2+ years of relevant PQE will also be considered.
  4. Accounting experience in real estate or fund administration services, with a solid understanding of property accounting.
  5. Proficiency in accounting software such as Yardi or similar real estate systems.
  6. Advanced Excel skills, including formula usage, pivot tables, and data analysis.
