Purpose of Role:

As a Blended Learning Facilitator in the foundation phase, you will drive student achievement by overseeing the culture and effectiveness of the Learning Lab. You will work directly with students in whole class, small group, and individual settings to provide academic interventions in literacy and maths. You are integral to our culture and our commitment to rigorous, engaging learning experiences for our scholars.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a positive student culture around online learning and maintain high behavioral expectations for all students.
  • Actively coach students on computer programs and ensure educational software meets student needs.
  • Develop lesson plans for tutoring sessions and tutor small groups of students on literacy and maths skills.
  • Report bi-weekly on ST Maths progress and communicate with teachers and administrators to create individualized learning plans.
  • Use SPARK culture and behavior management strategies and incorporate SEL curriculum with scholars.
  • Maintain responsibility for Learning Lab resources and report any damages.
  • Participate in staff development opportunities and cover classes if needed.

Qualifications:

  • English language fluency.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Studying towards a B.Ed. or PGCE in the Foundation Phase, preferably in their 3rd or 4th year.
  • Provisional SACE.

Experience:

  • Previous experience managing or working with primary school-aged children.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new technology.
