Job Overview

At MacDonald's Transport, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced finance professional to join our team as a Transport Finance Accountant.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the full Pastel accounting function up to trial balance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Record all financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and reconcile loan accounts.
  • Ensure municipal account payments are made accurately and on time.
  • Process monthly rental invoices and follow up on outstanding amounts.
  • Prepare and reconcile VAT returns, maintaining compliance with tax regulations.
  • Compile audit files, providing necessary documentation for external audits.
  • Provide regular financial reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in general accounting, with a focus on transport or logistics.
  • Relevant tertiary accounting qualification (e.g., BCom, CTA) and registration with a professional body (e.g., SAICA).
  • Proficiency in Accpac and Pastel, with ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-disciplined and goal-driven, with ability to work under pressure.
