Hire Resolve is seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager (QS) to lead our construction projects in the Western Cape, Cape Town. This role requires strong financial risk management skills and expertise in contract management.

Estimated Salary: R 800,000 - R 1,200,000 per annum

The successful candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field and at least 4-5 years of experience in construction project management or quantity surveying. They will be responsible for managing the financial and performance aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and time management skills, leadership abilities, and the ability to work in a team environment. They will also have strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills, as well as proficiency in using relevant construction software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Risk Management: Monitor projects to ensure they are managed according to the contract, manage drawdowns and material issuance, process payment certificates, and co-authorize the release of funds.
  • Contract Management: Ensure contractors apply for extensions when applicable, address contractual irregularities, and handle concerns and queries.
  • Resource Management: Assist with project planning, scheduling, and material procurement, oversee the appointment of subcontractors, and ensure proper management of supplies, plant, and tools.
  • Project Reporting & Liaison: Communicate project progress to the project leader, liaise with suppliers, consultants, and principal agents, and submit written monthly reports to stakeholders.
  • Qualifications & Experience:
    • Degree: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
    • Experience: 4-5 years in construction project management or quantity surveying.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong communication and time management skills.
    • Leadership abilities and the ability to work in a team environment.
    • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
    • Ability to manage resources and risk, and make informed decisions.
    • Proficiency in using relevant construction software (e.g., RIB Candy).
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
    • Results-driven and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
