**Retail Stores Accountant Wanted**

We are seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to manage the financial aspects of our retail stores division.

As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  1. Full Financial Accounting for the Retail Stores division using PASTEL & VIP software.
  2. Overseeing all financial aspects of the retail stores nationally.
  3. Managing debtors and creditors, as well as accounting for all financial aspects of the licensing company.
  4. Calculating and managing charges and royalties.
  5. Supervising a clerk for the mall stores to capture cash book, check system sales to bank deposits, capture creditors and manage debtors.
  6. Assisting the payroll clerk.
  7. Reviewing all payments, wages, store salaries, and head office salaries.
  8. Passing journals, VAT recon, GL/payroll system recon, and reconciling TB.
  9. Preparing management accounts, analyzing, and presenting to the directors.
  10. Preparing the annual budget.
  11. Meeting with the insurance broker annually to evaluate risk vs cost and present to directors.
  12. Overseeing COIDA, Employment Equity/SDL, EMP501's/IRP5's, and CIPC submissions.
  13. Assisting in the rental portfolio by reviewing lease offers, agreements, summarizing, and arranging bank guarantees.
  14. Being the key contact with auditors and SARS.
  15. Preparing budgets and break-even analysis.
  16. Preparing schedules/summaries/comparisons of information as required by the directors.
  17. Audit preparation and audit queries.
  18. Maintaining the fixed asset register and journals.
  19. Ensuring policies, procedures, and systems are operating effectively in stores and at the head office.
  20. Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations and accounting standards.
