A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse, based at Life Hilton Private Hospital, reporting to the Theatre Unit Manager. This role is responsible for assisting the surgical team to perform surgical procedures on patients successfully and ensuring that the patient receives optimal care in accordance with company and hospital strategic objectives.
Main Responsibilities- Ensuring effective financial management by accurately charging theatre clocking time, managing consignment stock, equipment, and prosthesis according to policy, and participating in regular stock taking and controlling of consignment stock.
- Affecting the functioning of theatre equipment and instrumentation by educating and supervising staff on the correct utilization of the equipment.
- Providing quality patient care by obtaining correct information pre-operatively, visiting patients post-operatively, ensuring patient comfort, and assisting doctors during surgical procedures.
- General Nursing Degree / Diploma with experience in Operating Theatre Nursing.
- Clinical competence in Operating Theatre Nursing.
- Postgraduate Diploma/Degree in Operating Theatre Nursing.
- Registration with SANC.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support.
- Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges, and role players would be an advantage.
- Computer proficiency would be an advantage.
