Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Podiatry Specialist to join our team at the Department of Health. As a key member of our Rehabilitation Program, you will be responsible for providing high-quality podiatry and therapeutic services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Render podiatry and therapeutic services in accordance with established norms and standards.
  • Provide community-based rehabilitation and therapeutic services, focusing on health promotion, prevention, and treatment.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team within primary healthcare or community healthcare facilities.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of quality assurance audit tools, national rehabilitation policy, and national core standards.
  • Compile and submit accurate statistics, monthly and annual reports.
  • Participate in regular meetings and continuing professional development (CPD) presentations.
  • Be willing to outreach to other clinics within the district as required.
  • Perform other duties as delegated by the supervisor/manager.
Requirements
  • Appropriate 4-year degree in Podiatry.
  • Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an independent practitioner.
  • Relevant experience after registration with HPCSA, with a minimum of 10 years for Grade 2 and 20 years for Grade 3.
  • Knowledge of working in a community-based setting.
  • Computer literacy and sound interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment and under pressure.
  • Analytical and creative skills, with adaptability.
Selection Criteria
  • Do you have an appropriate 4-year degree in Podiatry?
  • Are you registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an independent practitioner?
  • Do you have relevant experience after registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an independent practitioner in Podiatry?
