We are seeking an experienced actuary to lead pricing and product development projects across various clients and products. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing pricing solutions and product development for existing and new retail business reinsured by RGA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pricing
    • Pricing and product development for all Retail, Funeral, and Credit Life business.
    • Analyzing recent client experience informs our pricing approach.
    • Determining appropriate pricing bases and performing pricing projections and calculations in Axis.
    • Conducting reasonability checks and reconciliations.
    • Performing technical and overall peer review on quotes and tenders.
    • Delivering accurate and high-quality quotes aligning with RGA's corporate standards and timelines.
    • Assisting the team with ad hoc client and project queries.
  • Documentation
    • Documenting pricing assumptions and results adequately.
    • Completing letters of offer and treaties within agreed turnaround times.
  • Driving the Approval Process
    • Fostering collaboration with stakeholders to ensure efficient approval processes.
    • Working with Business Development, Underwriting, and Claims to produce proposals meeting client needs.
  • Pricing Efficiencies
    • Developing and maintaining pricing tools to enhance efficiency.
  • Teamwork
    • Fostering positive relationships within the team and other functions to promote effective collaboration.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A qualified or nearly qualified actuary with at least 5 years of actuarial work experience.
  • Experience in retail insurance pricing or product development.
  • Expertise in experience analysis and long-term cash flow modeling.
  • Advanced Excel, Word, Visual Basic, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Coding skills would be advantageous: VBA, R, Python, or SQL.
  • Strong collaboration and project management skills.
