The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Business Continuity Planning process to ensure the bank's readiness to operate during and after disruptive events.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive operational risk management framework.
  2. Work closely with stakeholders to implement operational risk processes.
  3. Maintain an inventory of operational risk events, including incidents.
  4. Establish key risk indicators to monitor risk exposure.
  5. Facilitate the implementation of the Risk and Control Assessment program across the organization.
  6. Perform ad-hoc risk assessments for new initiatives and material changes.
  7. Oversee the identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of operational risks across all bank operations.
  8. Manage the Business Continuity Planning process to ensure the bank's readiness to operate during and after disruptive events.
  9. Monitor third-party vendors to manage risks associated with outsourcing and third-party engagements.
  10. Implement robust data governance and model risk management practices.
  11. Lead the fraud risk management program to prevent, detect, and respond to fraudulent activities.
  12. Oversee the technology risk management framework to protect the bank's digital assets and information.
  13. Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and business units to enhance the bank's resilience against technology-related threats.
  14. Prepare and present risk reports to stakeholders, providing insights into risk exposures, trends, and mitigation efforts.
  15. Conduct training and awareness sessions to promote a risk-aware culture within the bank.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Information Technology, or related field.
  2. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CISA, CRISC, FRM) is highly desirable.
  3. Minimum of 5 years' experience in operational risk management within the banking or financial services industry.
  4. Proven track record of managing Business Continuity, Third-Party, Data, Model, Fraud, and Technology risks.
  5. Deep knowledge of SARB regulations, Basel III, and other relevant international risk management standards.
  6. Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
