Job Title: Financial Manager

As a key member of the Assegai team, the Financial Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the company's financial systems and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the financial team, including direct and indirect reports, to ensure seamless financial operations.
  • Prepare and present contract schedule reports to the directors, including contract provisions.
  • Oversee banking and treasury functions, including facility reviews and online banking system management.
  • Ensure tax compliance, including PAYE, VAT, and income tax, and handle tax submissions and SARS interactions.
  • Manage payroll, including monthly reviews, IRP5s, EMP501s, and tax directives.
  • Handle staff records, leave management, and ad hoc staff issues.
  • Liaise with auditors and attend to annual audits and statutory requirements.
  • Assist with BEE annual audit financial matters and liaise with auditors as required.
  • Oversee the drafting of financial statements and monthly management accounts.
  • Provide legal advice and support, including credit applications, credit bureaus, and contract drafting.
  • Offer IT support and input as needed.
  • Support the directors on legal, business, valuation, and other matters as required.
