Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Key Costing Specialist to join our team. As a Key Costing Specialist, you will be responsible for gathering pricing information from suppliers and sub-contractors, evaluating project costs effectiveness or profitability, and monitoring project stages to ensure costs are in-line with product estimate and forecast.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain updated product costing on shared drive.
  • Accurately maintain database of costs for manufacturing raw materials.
  • Calculate spreadsheets when new, updated, and improved manufacturing processes are established.
  • Compile and populate all product Bill of Materials.
  • BOM costs to be within 5% of actual costs at all times.
  • Maintain time and motion studies representative of actual manufacturing process timelines, including monitoring and evaluation thereof.
  • Prepare and send out quotes on the same day as requested.
  • Collaborate with engineering, clients, contractors, department seniors.
  • Collection of pricing information from suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Evaluation of project costs effectiveness or profitability.
  • Monitoring of project stages to ensure costs are in-line with product estimate and forecast.
  • Conduct tri-annual product cost variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with sales team to ensure price efficacy and manage calculation of selling prices as per agreed mark-up.
  • Monthly costing report on all products to be issued to Procurement Manager for approval.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Matric Certificate or equivalent good marks & passioned about mathematics.
  • MUST Have a Mechanical Engineering Qualification (Preferably BTech Mechanical).
  • MUST be able to read technical drawings.
  • +/- 3 years of experience in costings.
  • Excel & MS Word.
  • Bilingual.

Estimated Salary: R250,000 - R300,000 per annum.
