Key Responsibilities

The Meat Equipment Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of meat processing equipment, including slicers, grinders, packaging machines, and refrigeration systems.

The technician will work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize performance.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering and possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair meat processing equipment, including slicers, grinders, packaging machines, and refrigeration systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues, and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Perform emergency repairs to minimize production downtime.
  • Work closely with production and quality assurance teams to ensure equipment meets operational and safety standards.
  • Calibrate and adjust machinery settings to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Order and replace defective or worn-out parts as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food processing regulations.
  • Provide technical support and training to operators on the proper use and care of equipment.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Trade Certification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a technician in the meat processing or food industry.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working with automated and semi-automated meat processing equipment.
  • Familiarity with food industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
