Job Overview

The core purpose of this role is to design and develop electronic building systems and devices used in construction and infrastructure projects. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design Development: Develop electronic system specifications and designs based on customer requirements and design standards.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with architects, construction managers, and other engineers to ensure that electronic systems are feasible and integrated into construction projects and meet all client requirements.
  • System Engineering: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools to create and refine electronic system designs.
  • Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to determine the viability of new designs and electronic system techniques.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain contract and project documentation, including design reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that electronic systems meet statutory and regulatory requirements and adhere to safety, reliability, and sustainability standards.
  • Project Team Collaboration: Collaborate with members of the multi-disciplinary project team to ensure that electronic systems are installed, tested, and commissioned on time and within budget.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings, making recommendations to senior project management team members.
  • Project Management: Conduct regular project team meetings and provide guidance and support to multi-disciplinary project team members.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Ensure that all project stakeholders are kept informed of project progress and any project planning and milestone changes.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • BSc/BEng Degree or BTech in Electronics.
  • Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.
  • Strong technical background in electronics engineering.
  • Five (5) of the ten (10) years post professional registration (Pr Eng) should be in planning and implementing electronics systems in production environments.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and standards, as well as experience with project management.
