Senior Risk Management Analyst

As a Senior Credit Analyst at Nedbank, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining risk-adjusted pricing and risk ratings in accordance with Basel requirements. Your expertise will enable value-based management and the continued implementation of the Internal Ratings-Based Approach within our corporate investment banking division.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Analysis: Interpret financial results from annual financial statements or models, extracting relevant information for the internal rating process.
- Transaction Structuring: Collaborate with the front office to determine the relevant rating models for transactions and provide input on potential risk mitigants.
- Credit Risk Applications: Assist credit managers in preparing Credit Risk Applications (CRAs) with supporting documents.
- Customer Guidance: Advise credit managers and the front office on returns and ratings results, maintaining good client relationships through timely guidance and accurate information.
- Information Consistency: Ensure consistency of information by providing a summary of inputs used for models to the front office.
- Communication Facilitation: Facilitate communication between model developers and the front office to meet client needs.
- Deadline Management: Ensure deadlines are met through efficient work allocation, enabling analysts to work on different portfolios.
- Model Appropriateness: Interact with credit managers and the front office to ensure the model used is appropriate for transactions.
- Departmental Collaboration: Liaise with other Risk departments regarding inputs required for credit ratings, providing updates and feedback on models.
- Training and Development: Provide ad hoc training and coaching to peers and new staff members through manuals, explanations, and demonstrations.
- Business Strategy Alignment: Support the achievement of business strategy, objectives, and values by reviewing Nedbank and Business Unit plans.
- Personal Development: Identify training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from management.
- Culture Building: Contribute to a culture conducive to transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives.
- Corporate Responsibility: Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for business strategy achievement.
Qualifications: Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees (NQF Level). Preferred qualification: Honours Degree in Finance.
Experience: 2-3 years general banking experience.
Technical Knowledge: Banking knowledge, Communication Strategies, Data analysis, Governance, Risk and Controls, Industry trends, Principles of financial management, Relevant regulatory knowledge, Relevant software and systems knowledge, Research methodology, Business Acumen.
