Safety Health and Environmental Manager

We are excited to invite potential candidates for the role of Safety Health and Environmental Manager with our esteemed client's team in a manufacturing environment. With a minimum of 8 years' experience in SHE manufacturing and at least 5 years in senior management, you are the perfect fit for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a safety management system that ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with safety regulations through regular audits and inspections.
  • Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for safe work practices to minimize risks.
  • Manage training records to ensure all employees have necessary certifications and qualifications.
  • Chair the Safety Committee to foster open communication and collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Formulate and implement an environmental management system that reduces waste and minimizes harm to the environment.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and monitor progress regularly.
  • Prepare permit applications and reports to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Manage environmental impact and mitigation efforts to minimize risks to people and the environment.
  • Provide guidance on effective practices to promote a culture of safety and sustainability.
  • Lead the Emergency Response Team to respond quickly and effectively in case of emergencies.
  • Promote emergency preparedness by conducting regular drills and training exercises.
  • Develop and implement disaster plans to minimize losses and disruptions.
  • Test and monitor disaster plans to ensure they are effective and up-to-date.
  • Implement and enhance SHE policies to reflect best practices and industry standards.
  • Conduct hazard identification and maintain records to track and mitigate risks.
  • Propose improvement recommendations to stakeholders based on risk assessments and audit findings.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements to minimize fines and penalties.
  • Identify and evaluate potential losses to develop strategies for prevention and mitigation.
  • Develop plans to prevent or mitigate losses and implement them accordingly.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage corrective actions to address identified risks and weaknesses.
  • Manage projects as required to achieve business objectives and improve operational efficiency.
  • Engage with employees to promote a culture of safety and sustainability and provide training and development opportunities.
  • Address non-compliant behavior to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
