Job Description

Our company is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist / Buyer to join our team in Bellville Cape Town. As a Procurement Specialist / Buyer, you will be responsible for assessing raw materials, stock, and products. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ERP systems and be able to analyze costs and negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing goods and services
  • Researching different products and services
  • Analyzing the cost of procuring and selling products
  • Monitoring inventory and negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors
  • Performing procurement coordination, including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and risk management
  • Implementing trading agreements and protocols
  • Appraising vendor manufacturing ability through on-site visits and measurements
  • Monitoring supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements
  • Managing product quality to ensure product meets original purchase specifications

Requirements:

  • Matric with tertiary education in Supply Chain or Procurement
  • Up to 5 years' experience coming from a raw manufacturing process environment
  • Extensive knowledge of ERP systems
  • Technical strength in codes and specifications
