Job Title: Qualified Hydraulic Fitter

About the Role:

The Engineering Department at SA Metal is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hydraulic Fitter to join their team in the Fitters department. Job Description:

We are looking for a self-motivated and dedicated individual with a strong background in hydraulic systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting mechanical inspections on production machinery, ensuring compliance with company procedures, and performing routine planned and preventative maintenance tasks, including hydraulic system repairs and filter changes.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting mechanical inspections on production machineryEnsuring compliance with company proceduresPerforming routine planned and preventative maintenance tasksFault finding on hydraulic systemsAssembly and pressure testing of hydraulic cylindersServicing various hydraulic components

Required Qualifications and Skills:

To be considered for this role, you must possess a Qualified Fitter Artisan (Red Seal certification), a minimum Grade 12 or equivalent, and a minimum of 5 years' experience in a heavy industry or similar environment. A Code 14 Drivers License and valid PDP would be advantageous, as well as being physically fit and able to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a pressurized environment and requires the ability to work independently as well as in a team. You must also have good communication skills and be able to provide coaching to semi-skilled staff.
