Academic Professional: IT Management and Governance

CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
To create, design, develop, facilitate and administer the learning and teaching process for students in modules presented by the Nelson Mandela University at undergraduate level and postgraduate level. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a student-centred learning experience, incorporating the latest IT and technology trends, and ensuring that modules comply with all quality requirements.
To lecture subjects at the undergraduate and postgraduate level in the School of Information Technology, Department of IT Management and Governance and potentially across departments in the school, faculty or institution (depending on the operational needs).
Key Responsibilities:- Facilitate teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- Contribute to the creation of knowledge by virtue of postgraduate studies, research, innovation, publications and postgraduate supervision.
- Perform academic administration.
- Incorporate trends with regard to learning and teaching to ensure a student-centred learning experience.
- Maintain relevant and up to date learning and teaching material by integrating latest IT/technology trends.
- Participate in projects targeted at community service and engagement.
- Ensure that the modules comply with all quality requirements.
- A Masters degree in Information Technology or related field (Computer Science or Information Systems) with at least 2 years of relevant working experience.
- Evidence of teaching experience at undergraduate level. Industry experience would be advantageous.
