About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Controller to join our team. As a Transport Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to our clients, advising them of any delays or changes to scheduled transport.
- Claims and Communication: Communicate all claims and changes in scheduled transport to our clients in a timely and professional manner.
- Route Planning: Dispatch drivers with correct route plans to ensure efficient and safe transportation.
- Vehicle Management: Dispatch correct vehicles for each route, ensuring that our fleet is utilized effectively.
- Route Management: Manage routes, diesel consumption, and other operational aspects of our transportation services.
- Driver Management: Manage driver queries, ensuring that our drivers are supported and informed.
- Diesel Management: Capture all diesel consumption and manage fuel costs.
- Proof of Delivery: Manage Proof of Delivery (PODs) daily, ensuring that all deliveries are documented and verified.
- Incident Reporting: Report any incidents or accidents to our management team.
- POD Return: Ensure that all PODs are returned to our office in a timely manner.
- Audit Reports: Track and manage audit reports to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Fleet Equipment: Manage the maintenance and upkeep of our fleet equipment.
Requirements:
- Matric: A matric certificate is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in transportation is required.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including night shifts and weekends.
- Driving Experience: Previous experience in driving and interacting with customers is advantageous.
- TMS System: Experience with Transportation Management System (TMS) is required.
- Subcontractor Management: Experience in managing subcontractors is required.
