Our AWS Data Centers provide critical IT infrastructure, requiring a reliable supply of uninterrupted cooling and power at all times to ensure continuous uptime availability and service for our customers.

In this role, you will lead a team of Facility Managers and Chief Engineers across the region, overseeing best-in-class operations and maintenance of the mechanical and electrical infrastructure for data centers in the AWS Cloud region.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety: Promote a safe working environment by establishing and maintaining the highest safety standards.

People Management:

  • Lead a team of skilled facility professionals, demonstrating effective leadership skills.
  • Recruit, manage, develop, and coach a team of DC facility management staff.
  • Collaborate effectively with other department leaders, including Engineering, Finance, Safety, HR, and Recruiting.
  • Manage vendors and vendor contracting negotiations.

Operations and Maintenance:

  • Manage operations in a mission-critical environment with high complexity and scale, ensuring quality is not compromised.
  • Develop and execute strategic preventative maintenance and corrective break-fix planning on mission-critical infrastructures.
  • Prepare for and lead the organization through facility infrastructure incident management plan.
  • Expert knowledge of data center mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
  • Able to operate independently as a manager of a geographically distributed Infrastructure Operations management team.

Requirements:

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in relevant mechanical or electrical field and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.

Operational Experience: Experience in mission-critical operations environment (e.g., nuclear facility, high-technology manufacturing, healthcare, aviation maintenance, oil and gas) preferably linked to a 24/7 uninterrupted operations.

Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of data center mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.

Personal Qualities: Effective leadership skills, ability to recruit, manage, develop, and coach a team of DC facility management staff, collaborate effectively with other department leaders, and manage vendors and vendor contracting negotiations.
