Position Title: Junior Cost Control Specialist - JLL Africa

Role Overview: We are on the lookout for a proficient and seasoned Junior Cost Control Specialist to become a vital member of our Johannesburg team. The successful candidate will oversee the financial aspects and contractual agreements of construction initiatives across Sub-Saharan Africa, ensuring strict compliance with budgets and timelines while upholding superior quality and client satisfaction. This role demands robust technical capabilities alongside the aptitude to guide and mentor a team of cost management professionals.

Key Duties:

  • Oversee all facets of cost management and quantity surveying for construction projects.
  • Develop precise cost estimates, budgets, and financial documentation.
  • Conduct feasibility assessments and risk evaluations.
  • Source and manage contracts with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Track project advancement and expenditures against established budgets and schedules.
  • Offer expert guidance on contractual issues and conflict resolution.
  • Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Provide technical support and direction to the entire commercial management team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional QS registration with the SACQSP.
  • Over 12 years of experience in quantity surveying, particularly in large-scale construction endeavors.
  • Demonstrated success in managing costs and contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Strong technical knowledge complemented by analytical and numerical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite, including WinQS and DimX.
  • Experience in Sub-Saharan projects is advantageous.
  • Experience in Data Centre and Hospitality sectors is a plus.
