About the Role

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a hospital or Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) environment and be knowledgeable about cleaning and disinfection processes, infection control, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and calibrations.
  • Perform daily Bowie Dick tests and heat-resistant spore tests to ensure sterilization equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Clean and inspect all medical instruments and equipment, adhering to strict guidelines.
  • Pack and prepare sterile instruments for surgical procedures, ensuring timely delivery to the operating theater.
  • Assist in inventory management, ordering supplies, and controlling stock levels.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, doctors, and other stakeholders.

We offer a competitive salary of R250,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including medical aid, pension fund, and 20 days' annual leave.

Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Certificate in CSSD training.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a hospital or CSSD environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of cleaning and disinfection processes, infection control, and safety protocols.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work well under pressure.
