**Job Title:** Lead Mechanical Fitter and Operations Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor to oversee a team of Mechanical Fitters working with API 610 pumps, including Sulzer pumps, Byron Jackson pumps (Stage 2, 3, 4), and vertical spider pumps. This role requires a deep understanding of pump mechanics, troubleshooting, and maintenance procedures, along with excellent leadership and safety management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign daily tasks and monitor team performance to meet project timelines and quality standards.
  • Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and training to team members on pump assembly, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Conduct performance reviews, identify skill gaps, and implement continuous improvement initiatives for the team.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, including conducting safety audits and toolbox talks.
  • Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a safe working environment for the team.
  • Oversee troubleshooting, dismantling, inspection, reconditioning, and assembly of pumps, ensuring effective resolution of mechanical failures such as seal, bearing, and shaft issues.
  • Develop and manage maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with other departments (engineering, procurement) to ensure timely delivery of parts, tools, and materials.
  • Ensure all work meets OEM specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Prepare reports on maintenance activities, pump performance, and any issues encountered during repairs.
  • Maintain inventory of critical spare parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring availability for timely repairs.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed in compliance with quality standards and properly documented.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a mechanical fitter or technician, particularly with API 610 pumps, Sulzer pumps, Byron Jackson pumps (Stage 2, 3, 4), and vertical spider pumps.
  • Strong knowledge of pump mechanics, hydraulics, and rotating equipment.
  • In-depth understanding of pump performance and troubleshooting, including seal, bearing, and shaft issues.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for API 610 pumps and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a technical team.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication skills for working with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in using mechanical tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure.
