Key Performance Areas

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Port Elizabeth / Gqeberha. As a senior member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for supervising and training junior and intermediate accountants, as well as performing complex accounting and auditing tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and initiate the processing of client information, including receipts, sales invoices, and purchase invoices.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and process Petty Cash and cash control accounts.
  • Handle general journals, process journal entries, and reconcile debtors and creditors statements.
  • Manage foreign exchange transactions, ensure correct accounting treatment on disposal of assets and investments, and analyse trial balances for mistakes and deviations.
  • Conduct analytical reviews of financial statements and produce draft sets of financials according to generally accepted accounting practice.
Qualifications
  • Matric with Accounting at a Higher Grade.
  • BCom degree or equivalent degree with Accounting III and taxation.
  • Completed SAIPA articles or SAICA articles.
  • More than 6 years of experience in an accounting practice.
  • Proficiency in Pastel, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), CaseWare, and Xero.
