Pharmacist - Cornubia - KZN

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join their team at the Cornubia store. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of the English language and a second language, with excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Evaluate patients' medicine-related needs and provide pharmaceutical care.
• Dispense medicines and scheduled substances on prescription, and sign off and check prescriptions prepared by assistants or interns.
• Furnish information and advice to patients regarding the use of medicines.
• Determine patient compliance with therapy and follow up to ensure patients' medicine-related needs are met.
• Provide pharmacist-initiated therapy, compound and manipulate medicines, and supervise these activities.
• Purchase, acquire, import, keep, possess, use, release, store, package, re-package, supply, or sell medicines, and supervise these activities.
• Apply for the registration of medicines in accordance with the Medicines Act and Pharmacy Act.
• Formulate medicines for registration, distribute medicines, re-package medicines, initiate and conduct pharmaceutical research and development, and promote public health.

• Grade 12 / Matric and BPharm or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council.
• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in pharmaceutical retail pharmacy.
• Computer literate and proficient in MS Office.
• Ability to lead by example and train other staff members.
• Strong attention to detail, sound numerical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Team player with excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council.
• Willing and able to work retail hours.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
• Valid driver's license and own reliable transport.
• South African citizen with a clear credit and criminal record.
