Job Title: Academic Professional - Dietetics
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Professional to join our team at HR Genie. The successful candidate will be responsible for lecturing and taking full responsibility for various modules in the field of dietetics, including food service management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lecturing and taking full responsibility for various modules (both theoretical and practical components) according to the needs of the Department, especially but not limited to food and food service related modules, including the co-ordination and administration.
- Assist with research in the department and supervision of senior undergraduate and post-graduate students in research in the food and food service management fields.
- Guide students in work integrated learning and assist in the co-ordination of work integrated learning.
- Assist with academic and operational administration, including development work.
Requirements:
- Good knowledge of theory and application of the various fields of dietetics and especially food and food service management.
- In-depth experience in working in food services and/or culinary field, including in hospitals.
- Good teaching skills and experience in teaching.
- Good relationships with students.
- Good negotiation skills.
- Strong administrative skills.
- Ability to compile student guides and manuals.
- Proven ability to facilitate learning of students in theoretical and practical components of dietetics.
- Ability to conduct research and write proposals and articles.
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will be required to travel between the various campuses of the university, various hotels, hospitals and other food service institutions around Port Elizabeth and other towns and cities in the Eastern Cape.
