Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Design Planner/Engineer to join our team at Future Africa Consulting (Pty)Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing technical designs and coordinating technical implementation requirements for fibre build projects, as well as planning, engineering, and provisioning of network design solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Design and Implementation
    • Develop detailed technical designs that deliver an optimum solution for complex customer requirements
    • Coordinate technical implementation and take full responsibility for the success of technical components of international delivery projects
    • Establish professional relationships with key stakeholders and manage interfaces effectively
  • Network Design and Planning
    • Collect and verify data from Nokia and customer systems and documents for building high-level and low-level designs
    • Prepare high-level and low-level design guidelines and documentation
    • Organize customer workshops to review designs and make necessary amendments
  • Project Management
    • Manage the planning requirements that deliver a minimum of 1,500 Home Passes every month
    • Deliver all works order tasks 96% of the time within scope, budget, and the agreed timeline
    • Deliver all tasks and responsibilities 96% of the time with zero defects or errors
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • A related degree, diploma, or relevant education
  • Experience
    • Minimum 6 years of experience in fibre transmission planning, advanced knowledge in fibre network built and planning, fibre types, fibre specifications, and equipment and material used to build a fibre network
  • Skills
    • Computer literate, strong Excel and Word skills, good communication skills, presentable, able to handle conflict situations, performance and target-driven individual, positive mindset, and able to work under pressure
