A challenging opportunity exists for a Trainee Article Clerk to join our client, a well-established accounting firm in Durbanville. As a Trainee Article Clerk, you will be responsible for assisting the accountants with various client matters and developing your skills in finance.

Responsibilities:

  1. Capture transactions in accounting records
  2. Perform reconciliations
  3. Perform bookkeeping to balance sheet
  4. Interpreting clients' accounting records and compiling financial statements (IFRS for SMEs)
  5. Perform tax calculations and complete tax returns
  6. Complete VAT returns
  7. Assist accountants with administrative work and resolve queries

Requirements:

  • Matric or higher qualification
  • B.Com / B.Acc (Accounting) or equivalent degree
  • National Diploma / B.Tech (Accounting)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • No prior experience required

Key Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with diverse teams
  • Deadline orientated and able to work under pressure
  • Attention to detail and excellent time management skills
