Job Description
Fleets play a vital role in the success of Econofoods Pty (LTD)'s logistics and distribution objectives. As Fleet Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our fleet by managing daily tasks, overseeing maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining seamless communication between departments.

Main Responsibilities
Fleet Management:
  1. Conduct pre-trip checks on all vehicles and review reported matters, taking action according to urgency levels.
  2. Investigate and report fleet-related issues.
  3. Optimize fleet usage by allocating resources effectively and maintaining performance tracking.
  4. Monitor truck performance and take corrective action where necessary.
Fuel Management:
  1. Monitor daily fuel usage and submit reports as required.
  2. Clear fuel exceptions and investigate reduced fuel efficiency on individual trucks, taking corrective action when needed.
Fleet Maintenance:
  1. Schedule and coordinate vehicle services according to requirements.
  2. Review job cards and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  3. Accurately maintain fleet records, including fuel usage and maintenance information.
Fleet Image:
  1. Maintain a positive fleet image through regular vehicle maintenance.
  2. Establish weekly truck washing schedules and ensure vehicles meet hygiene standards.
Safety & Compliance:
  1. Conduct safety inspections and ensure vehicles comply with legal standards.
  2. Address workplace risks and manage compliance-related tasks.
  3. Manage service providers in line with safety and compliance regulations.
Fleet Availability:
  1. Ensure fleet availability meets delivery capacity needs and communicate daily with stakeholders.
  2. Implement a breakdown system and handle incidents efficiently to minimize operational disruption.
Cost Management:
  1. Promote cost efficiency by addressing fleet defects promptly.
  2. Compare service provider quotes and form partnerships with value-driven vendors.
  3. Manage fleet-related costs within budget constraints.
Reporting, Communication And Team Management:
  1. Facilitate team meetings according to guidelines and ensure staff are well-informed and equipped.
  2. Manage time and attendance, as well as performance, for fleet team members.
  3. Collaborate with departments to maintain fleet availability and resolve issues.
  4. Work with other controllers to deliver optimal logistics services to internal and external customers.
  5. Update daily, weekly, and monthly KPI boards.
  6. Provide regular reporting as required.
  7. Adhere to Health and Safety requirements within the team.
