The Role

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated individual to assist the surgical team in delivering high-quality patient care within their scope of practice.

Critical Responsibilities
  • Effective Financial Management: Ensure accurate charging by managing theatre clocking time, consignment stock, equipment, and prosthesis according to policy.
  • Theatre Equipment Maintenance: Educate and supervise staff on correct equipment utilization, ensuring proper functioning of theatre equipment and instrumentation.
  • Quality Patient Care: Obtain necessary information pre-operatively, visit patients post-operatively, and ensure patient comfort during procedures.

Key Performance Indicators: Provide theatre-specific training, assess staff competence, monitor normal and overtime hours, and ensure the theatre team works within their scope of practice.

Requirements
  • Qualification as an Enrolled Nurse, registered with SANC.
  • Relevant experience and technical skills to meet critical responsibilities.
  • Experience assisting Anaesthetists essential.
  • Understanding of the private healthcare industry and its challenges.
